The Picts, so some scholars believe, had seven Kingdoms. These Kingdoms are called Cait, Ce, Circinn, Fib, Fidach, Fotla, and Fortriu. These kingdoms, however, can not be proven because, though archaeologists have found artefacts remaining from Pict villages, there are no first hand accounts from the Picts themselves for they do not have any written work. It is still unclear if we should classify them as Celts although most place name evidence tends to support that the Picts spoke the Brythonic Language. As a war tactic and as culture the Picts painted or tattooed their bodies.
