Guinevere, in all king Arthur tales, is married King Arthur,
but she loves Sir Lancelot. The name Guinevere may
have been changed from Gwenhwyfar, which can be
translated to ‘The White Fay’. Guinevere could also
have been changed from Gwenhwy-vawr, which is Gwen
the Great or Gwenhwy-vach, which is Gwen the less. Not
only is the name Guinevere very complicated, so is Gwen
herself. In the movie King Arthur (2004), Gwen is a Pict
that has been ‘captured by Arthur under Roman orders.
But in story, Gwen in the daughter of young Arthur’s new
ali. The first time Arthur sees Gwen he falls in love and
takes her away. No dad would just sit there and let his
daughter be taken from him so a war start. A young
woman being fought over, this is the part of the tale that
starts to sound like TROY. The war is won and a truce is
written. Gwen is to marry Arthur. After a while back at her
fathers kingdom, Lancelot was sent to escort her back to
Camelot. On the return back to Arthur, Guinevere falls in
love with her main escort, Lancelot. Although her heart
belongs to Lancelot, she marries Arthur and fulfilled her duty. After Arthur and Guinevere were married, Lancelot goes crazy and becomes a leader of a tribe full-hearty against Arthur’s rule. In Arthur’s search for the Holy Grail he is killed, Leaving Gwen widowed and with out her true love.
